Iritis, medically also known as anterior uveitis, is an inflammation of the eye that primarily affects the iris and ciliary body. Symptoms of iritis include:

1. Eye pain, with a sensation of pain inside or around the eye, which may become more pronounced in bright light. This pain may be caused by inflammation of the iris tissue.

2. Blurred vision, as the inflammation affects the eye's focusing ability, causing objects to appear unclear.

3. Photophobia (light sensitivity), with abnormal sensitivity to light. When exposed to sunlight or bright artificial light, patients may experience photophobia,表现为 blinking or an urge to shield the eyes.

4. Redness of the eye. When the iris becomes inflamed, small white blood cells and excessive proteins leaking from tiny blood vessels float in the aqueous humor between the iris and cornea, causing the eye to appear red. There may also be increased tear production or sticky discharge.

5. Pupil changes. Iritis may cause unequal pupil size or irregular, jagged edges of the pupil.

6. Eye fatigue and discomfort. Prolonged inflammation can cause a feeling of fatigue and discomfort in the eye.

If any symptoms such as redness, pain, blurred vision, photophobia, or changes in the pupil occur, prompt medical evaluation and treatment are necessary.
