Waking up with numbness and weakness in the right arm in the morning may be caused by cervical spondylosis. Cervical spine lesions may compress nerve roots, leading to abnormal sensation and motor function in the arm. Anxiety also can cause bodily sensory disturbances, but it usually is accompanied by other anxiety-related symptoms, such as palpitations, insomnia, and low mood.

It is recommended to visit a hospital first, where examinations such as range of motion of the neck, sensory testing, and muscle strength assessment of the arms may be performed. Imaging studies of the cervical spine, such as X-ray, CT, or MRI, may also be recommended to determine whether cervical spondylosis is present.

If cervical spondylosis is diagnosed, treatment options may include physical therapy, such as cervical traction, massage, and physiotherapy, to relieve symptoms of nerve compression. Medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or neurotrophic agents, may also be required. At the same time, it is important to adjust lifestyle habits, maintain proper sitting posture and sleeping position, and avoid prolonged periods of neck flexion.

Regarding anxiety, if related symptoms are present, a psychological evaluation may be needed. If necessary, psychological therapy or anti-anxiety medications under a doctor's guidance may be considered.
