In patients with diabetes, antibiotics should be selected cautiously to avoid potential blood glucose fluctuations or drug interactions. Theoretically, most antibiotics are safe for diabetic patients; however, in clinical practice, certain antibiotics may require special attention:

1. Cephalosporin antibiotics, such as alclinin sodium for injection and ampicillin sodium sulbactam sodium for injection, may cause elevated blood glucose levels and therefore are not recommended for diabetic patients.

2. Penicillin antibiotics, such as piperacillin sodium tazobactam sodium for injection and vancomycin hydrochloride for injection, have a certain blood glucose-lowering effect and are similarly unsuitable for diabetic patients.

3. Quinolone antibiotics, such as levofloxacin, ofloxacin, and norfloxacin, may cause abnormal blood glucose levels, including both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, especially in elderly patients or diabetic patients with existing renal insufficiency.

Diabetic patients should closely monitor changes in blood glucose levels when using antibiotics and adjust hypoglycemic medication dosages under a physician's guidance to ensure stable blood glucose levels.
