Dr. Tian Hongbo

Low blood pressure, specifically low diastolic pressure, may be caused by various factors including genetics, a frail physique, and changes in body position. To manage low blood pressure, the following measures can be considered:

1. Lifestyle modifications: Increase physical activity, such as engaging in aerobic exercises like running or swimming, to enhance cardiac pumping capacity and improve the condition of low blood pressure. At the same time, reduce prolonged sitting and avoid long periods of bed rest to promote blood circulation.

2. Maintain adequate hydration: Drinking more water can increase blood volume and help raise blood pressure. It is especially important to ensure sufficient water intake during hot weather or after exercise.

3. Move slowly when changing positions: Transition from sitting or lying down to standing slowly, avoiding sudden standing, to reduce the drop in blood pressure caused by positional changes.

4. Dietary adjustments: Consume moderate amounts of high-salt foods such as pickled vegetables and salted duck eggs, ensuring sufficient daily intake of sodium ions, which helps elevate blood pressure. Additionally, eat more easily digestible foods rich in protein, such as eggs and milk, to increase overall nutritional intake.
