Why does the right side of my waist hurt when I turn over?
My right waist suddenly started hurting with sharp, intermittent pain, even turning over in bed is very painful. I haven't done any strenuous exercise recently. Now, my walking is somewhat affected, and I can't bend over either. What could be causing this?

Right-sided lower back pain, especially when it is cramp-like and worsens with body movement or turning over, may be associated with various health issues. Below are some possible causes:
1. Muscle or soft tissue injury: Overuse, improper posture, or sports-related injuries may cause strains of muscles, tendons, or ligaments, resulting in pain.
2. Kidney problems: Right-sided lower back pain may also be related to conditions such as kidney stones or nephritis, which can cause severe back pain that may present as cramping.
3. Lumbar spine issues: Conditions such as lumbar disc herniation or spinal stenosis may compress nerve roots, causing pain on the right side of the lower back, particularly noticeable during movement or postural changes.
4. Nerve compression: For example, sciatica may cause pain radiating from the lower back down to the lower limbs, with pain intensifying when turning over due to changes in body position.
5. Internal organ diseases: Conditions affecting organs such as the liver, gallbladder, or pancreas may sometimes present as pain in the right side of the lower back.
6. Inappropriate mattress or posture: A mattress that is too hard or too soft, as well as improper posture when turning over, may lead to uneven pressure on the lower back and cause pain.
