Pubic symphysis inflammation, often referred to as pubic symphysis dysfunction or pubic pain, is a type of inflammation affecting the front part of the pelvis specifically in the pubic symphysis area. The pubic symphysis is a fibrocartilaginous joint connecting the two hip bones at the front of the pelvis, whose main function is to stabilize the pelvis and support body weight. When inflammation occurs in this area, the following symptoms may appear:

1. Pain: The most notable symptom is pain in the pubic area, especially worsening during activity, walking, climbing stairs, or after prolonged standing. The pain may radiate to the inner thighs, lower abdomen, or perineal region.

2. Limited mobility: Due to pain, patients may experience restricted range of motion in the legs, particularly finding movements such as crossing the legs or lifting the legs difficult.

3. Tenderness: Applying pressure to the pubic symphysis area causes significant pain.

4. Abnormal gait: To alleviate the pain, patients may alter their walking pattern, resulting in gait instability or limping.

Pubisyndesmopathy may also cause discomfort during urination and a sensation of pressure or heaviness in the posterior urethra, perineum, and anal area. These symptoms may worsen when squatting, defecating, or sitting for prolonged periods. In severe cases, pubisyndesmopathy may lead to difficulty walking and osteoporosis.
