Bone displacement, also known as fracture dislocation or joint dislocation, refers to a partial or complete interruption of bone continuity caused by external force, resulting in a change in the bone's position. This condition requires timely and appropriate treatment to avoid long-term health problems.

When bone displacement occurs, treatment mainly falls into two categories: conservative treatment and surgical treatment.

1. Closed reduction: For displaced fractures that are not severe and are relatively stable, closed reduction may be used. In this procedure, the physician manually repositions the bone to its correct alignment under local anesthesia, followed by immobilization using plaster, braces, or similar devices to promote healing in the proper position.

2. Surgical treatment: In cases of severe displacement, failed closed reduction, or associated vascular or nerve injuries, surgical intervention such as internal or external fixation may be necessary to ensure proper bone healing.

Regardless of the treatment method used, patients need to visit the hospital regularly for follow-up examinations to monitor the healing progress. Additionally, during the rehabilitation period, patients should also perform functional exercises as instructed to prevent loss of function.
