Is it okay to engage in sexual activity nine days after surgery for a ruptured eyeball?
It has been nine days since I underwent surgery for a ruptured eyeball, and I would like to ask if it is possible to resume sexual activity.
Ruptured globe is a serious eye injury that requires surgical repair. During the recovery period after surgery, patients should avoid any activities that may increase intraocular pressure to prevent compromising wound healing and the recovery process. Although sexual activity is a form of physical exertion, its impact on intraocular pressure is relatively small; however, this does not mean that sexual activity can be resumed immediately in the early postoperative period.
To ensure safety and optimal healing, it is advisable to avoid strenuous physical activities, particularly those related to sexual activity, for a period of time following globe rupture surgery, so as to minimize unnecessary risks to the eye. At the same time, following the doctor's recommendations regarding appropriate rest and care is extremely important.
