O-shaped legs, medically known as genu varum, are a common skeletal issue in children and adolescents, but can also occur in adults. If it is a physiological phenomenon during growth and development, usually no special treatment is required and it will naturally improve with age. However, if the O-shaped legs are severe, affect walking or joint function, or appear in adulthood, the following measures may be necessary:

1. Non-surgical treatment: Suitable for patients with mild genu varum and younger age. The leg shape can be gradually corrected through wearing orthoses, leg binding, or using specific insoles. At the same time, physical therapy and rehabilitation exercises are combined to enhance the strength and balance of leg muscles.

2. Exercise correction: Strengthen the balance of muscle power on the inner and outer sides of the thighs, such as exercising the adductor and abductor muscle groups, to improve leg appearance.

3. Surgical treatment: Severe genu varum or cases in adulthood may require surgical intervention.

4. Adjustment of daily habits: Maintain correct sitting and standing postures, avoid prolonged weight-bearing on one leg, wear appropriate footwear, and reduce pressure on the knees.
