What are the types of knee joint deformities?
I have recently been feeling some discomfort in my knee and walking feels a bit awkward. I would like to know what types of knee joint deformities exist.

Knee deformity is one of the common skeletal disorders in clinical practice, mainly characterized by abnormalities in the shape and function of the knee joint. The main types include the following:
1. O-shaped legs (genu varum): This is one of the most common types of knee deformities,表现为 the inward bending of the legs at the knees, forming an "O" shape. This deformity is usually associated with imbalanced development of the growth plates in the femur or tibia and is commonly seen in children and adolescents, although it can also occur in adults.
2. X-shaped legs (genu valgum): In contrast to O-shaped legs, X-shaped legs表现为 outward bending of the knees, creating an "X" shape between the lower leg and the thigh. This condition can also be caused by imbalanced bone growth and is commonly observed in childhood, especially during periods of rapid growth.
3. Knee flexion deformity: This refers to a condition where the angle between the lower leg and thigh exceeds 140 degrees when the knee joint is in the extended position. It may be caused by degenerative joint disease, chronic overuse, or other factors.
4. Knee hyperextension: This refers to a condition where the angle between the lower leg and thigh is less than 90 degrees when the knee joint is flexed. It may be caused by knee injuries, congenital developmental abnormalities, or other factors.
