Difference between bone pain and muscle pain
I have been experiencing intermittent pain in various parts of my body recently, and I can't tell whether it's bone pain or tendon/ligament pain. Bone pain feels deeper, as if coming from inside, and the pain tends to be relatively fixed. Tendon or ligament pain, on the other hand, seems to involve a pulling sensation and may become more noticeable during movement. I would like to know how I can accurately determine whether the pain is originating from the bone or from the tendons/ligaments.
Bone pain and muscle pain mainly differ in their source and presentation. Bone pain is often acute, well-localized, and associated with trauma or bone diseases; muscle pain is typically chronic, poorly localized, and caused by overuse or strain.
In terms of treatment, bone pain may require diagnostic imaging such as X-ray or MRI, and surgery may be necessary in severe cases; muscle pain is more commonly managed with physical therapy, rest, ice application, and medications to relieve symptoms.
