How long does it take for an anal fissure to heal?
Recently, due to irregular eating habits and prolonged sitting at work, I developed an anal fissure. I am currently undergoing treatment, but I would still like to know the healing time for an anal fissure.

The healing time for anal fissures varies depending on individual differences, the size of the fissure, and the treatment method. Generally, anal fissures may heal within one to four weeks, but the exact duration depends on the patient's specific condition.
Mild anal fissures can be healed through improved dietary habits, maintaining adequate hydration, ensuring smooth bowel movements, warm water sitz baths, and topical application of ointments. These usually heal on their own within one to two weeks. In contrast, severe anal fissures, such as those with severe symptoms, deeper cracks, or accompanying infections, may require longer treatment periods or even surgical intervention, resulting in a prolonged healing time.
