Chest hardening after breast augmentation surgery may be caused by capsular contracture. In addition, improper postoperative care leading to localized infection can also result in breast firmness.

Patients are advised to apply warm compresses with a hot towel to promote local blood circulation and help resolve the hardening. Continuous massage, use of anti-inflammatory medications, or physical therapy may also be beneficial. If the condition does not improve after employing the above measures, surgical intervention may be necessary to release or remove the capsule. During the recovery period, patients should also ensure adequate rest, avoid strenuous activities and pressure on the chest, and prevent any actions that may interfere with postoperative healing.
