Will getting double eyelid surgery leave a scar?
I'm concerned about whether there will be scarring after getting double eyelid surgery. I'd like to know about the scar condition following double eyelid surgery.
Dble eyelid surgery is a common cosmetic procedure that mainly involves making an incision on the upper eyelid to create a crease, thereby achieving an aesthetically pleasing effect. Whether the incision method or the suture method is used, some degree of skin trauma is inevitable, although it typically subsides on its own over time.
The incision method, including the three-point technique, small incision, and traditional full incision, involves cutting through the full thickness of the skin and therefore may leave postoperative scars. During the surgery, the surgeon makes precise incisions on the upper eyelid, removes excess skin and fat, and finally sutures the incisions to create natural-looking double eyelids. Although incisions are made during the procedure, with skilled surgical techniques, their location and size are carefully planned to minimize scar formation.
Prior to surgery, patients should communicate thoroughly with the surgeon to understand the potential risks and outcomes, and prepare psychologically. After surgery, patients should strictly follow the surgeon's postoperative care instructions, keep the wound clean, avoid excessive eye strain, and take other measures to promote healing and reduce scar formation.
