It is generally not recommended for breastfeeding women to receive facial slimming injections. The main component of these injections is botulinum toxin, which works by blocking signal transmission between nerves and muscles, causing muscle atrophy and thereby achieving a slimming effect on the face. However, during lactation, botulinum toxin may enter the breast milk through the mother's bloodstream and subsequently be passed on to the infant.

Since infants' physiological functions are not yet fully developed, botulinum toxin could potentially have adverse effects on them, such as inhibiting acetylcholine release from presynaptic membranes and affecting normal physiological functions like swallowing and sucking ability. Additionally, receiving facial slimming injections during breastfeeding may also carry risks such as allergic reactions, neuromuscular conduction disorders, and loss of facial expression muscle function.

If you are particularly concerned about facial contours, you may consider non-invasive methods such as facial massage, specific facial exercises, or using safe facial skincare products to reduce risks. Breastfeeding women should prioritize their baby's health and approach cosmetic treatments like facial slimming injections with caution unless there is sufficient evidence of safety. It is best to consider such treatments only after the breastfeeding period has ended.
