Dr. Shen Yonghua

It is relatively difficult to completely cure chronic enteritis.

Chronic enteritis is a long-term, recurrent inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract, with symptoms including abdominal pain, diarrhea, and indigestion. The treatment goals for chronic enteritis are to relieve symptoms, control disease progression, and improve quality of life.

If chronic enteritis is caused by specific factors, such as infectious enteritis or drug-induced enteritis, it can often be completely cured through targeted treatment. However, for autoimmune enteritis such as ulcerative colitis, there is currently no specific cure. Nevertheless, through comprehensive management including medication, dietary adjustments, and lifestyle changes, the condition can be effectively controlled, enabling patients to achieve clinical remission and improved quality of life.

In treating chronic enteritis, it is important to maintain good daily routines, avoid irritating foods, engage in moderate exercise, and, depending on the condition, antibiotics, antidiarrheal agents, antispasmodics, or probiotics may be required. Additionally, due to the long duration and high recurrence rate of chronic enteritis, patients should pay particular attention to adjusting their diet and lifestyle habits in daily life to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
