Cervical erosion generally refers to cervical columnar epithelial displacement. Displacement of the cervical columnar epithelium to the second degree is considered a moderate condition; if there are no obvious symptoms, it may not be serious. However, if significant symptoms have already appeared, the condition may be more severe. It is recommended to seek timely medical attention.

Cervical columnar epithelial displacement is caused by hormonal changes, specifically shifts in estrogen levels, which lead to the outward movement of the junction between the cervical columnar epithelium and squamous epithelium. This phenomenon is quite common among women of childbearing age. If there are no symptoms such as irregular vaginal bleeding, pain during intercourse, or abnormal vaginal discharge odor, it may be a physiological columnar epithelial displacement, which is generally not serious.

If symptoms such as irregular vaginal bleeding, pain during intercourse, or abnormal vaginal discharge odor are present, they may be associated with cervicitis or cervical cancer, and further evaluation is necessary, as the condition could be more severe. When necessary, follow medical advice to use medications such as Baofukang suppository, Kangfu Xiaoyan suppository, or Azithromycin capsules to alleviate discomfort.

It is recommended to undergo regular cervical cytology examinations and HPV virus testing to rule out the possibility of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia or early-stage cervical cancer.
