I am a 28-year-old woman who underwent rhinoplasty one month ago, and I am very satisfied with my new nose. However, due to work-related social engagements, I often need to attend various parties where alcohol is commonly consumed. Under normal circumstances, it is not recommended to consume alcohol for at least one month following rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that improves the shape of the nose by implanting prosthetic materials or autologous tissues. After surgery, the nasal tissues require time to heal and adjust to the new shape. During the recovery period, the nasal skin is more sensitive and the wounds have not fully healed, making it more susceptible to external stimuli and complications.

During the recovery phase after rhinoplasty, physicians typically advise patients to avoid alcohol consumption. Alcohol acts as a blood thinner and may increase the risk of bleeding, interfere with the healing process, and potentially cause swelling and inflammation. Furthermore, alcohol intake can weaken the immune system, reducing the body's ability to fight infections, which is particularly undesirable during recovery. Generally, patients should wait at least 2 to 4 weeks after rhinoplasty before gradually resuming normal lifestyle habits, including diet and physical activities.

During the recovery period, patients should follow their doctor's instructions, maintain a light diet, avoid excessively spicy or greasy foods, and consume more protein- and vitamin-rich foods to promote wound healing and reduce swelling. Additionally, it is important to keep the surgical site clean and dry, and avoid any external trauma to ensure proper healing and satisfactory postoperative results.
