Cervical erosion refers to cervical columnar epithelial displacement. Causes include hormonal changes, unclean sexual activity, excessive cleaning, multiple abortions, and cervicitis.

1. Hormonal changes: In women of childbearing age, the columnar epithelium within the cervical canal may grow outward and form an eversion due to the influence of estrogen levels, covering part of the cervical surface. This causes the surface to appear red, uneven, and eroded.

2. Unclean sexual activity: Poor genital hygiene or excessively frequent sexual activity may lead to cervical infection, subsequently causing cervical columnar epithelial displacement.

3. Excessive cleaning: Using overly concentrated cleansing solutions or excessively washing the vagina may disrupt the normal vaginal flora balance, increasing the risk of cervical columnar epithelial displacement.

4. Multiple abortions: Repeated induced abortions can seriously injure the cervix, increasing the risk of cervical columnar epithelial displacement.

5. Cervicitis: When the cervix appears red and uneven, accompanied by increased vaginal discharge, itching, and odor, it may be caused by cervicitis. This condition may accelerate the outward migration of columnar epithelial cells, presenting as "erosion-like" changes.

Maintaining good lifestyle habits and practicing proper personal hygiene are important preventive measures.
