Symptoms of cervical lymphadenitis may include swollen lymph nodes in the neck, localized redness, swelling and pain, as well as systemic symptoms.

Cervical lymphadenitis is an inflammation of the lymph nodes in the neck caused by bacterial, viral, or other pathogenic infections. Patients may experience enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, which are firm in texture and may be movable or fixed, accompanied by tenderness. Additionally, swelling of the submandibular lymph nodes, subcutaneous masses, and neck swelling may also occur.

Localized redness, swelling, heat, and pain may be observed, sometimes with visible skin redness or increased skin temperature. Sore throat, throat pain, cough, and toothache are often associated with the primary infectious focus causing the lymphadenitis. Patients may also exhibit systemic symptoms such as fever, fatigue, chills, and decreased appetite. Some patients may experience headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and loss of appetite. In severe infections, breathing may be affected.

In certain specific conditions, such as cat-scratch disease and tuberculosis, cervical lymphadenitis may be accompanied by other systemic symptoms or characteristic skin manifestations.
