Roasted peanuts themselves do not directly cause constipation.

Peanuts contain abundant dietary fiber, healthy fats, and protein, which are all nutrients that contribute to intestinal health and aid digestion. Dietary fiber increases stool bulk and promotes intestinal motility, which, in theory, should help prevent constipation. Eating moderate amounts of roasted peanuts can supplement essential nutrients and help stimulate gastrointestinal motility, thus exerting a bowel lubricating and constipation-relieving effect. However, excessive consumption of roasted peanuts may burden the gastrointestinal tract because they are a fried and dry food, potentially leading to indigestion, symptoms such as bloating and abdominal pain, and possibly even causing constipation. The roasting process may also involve the addition of significant amounts of oil or salt, and excessive intake of high-fat and high-salt foods may affect water balance and indirectly impair intestinal function.

Therefore, it is recommended to consume roasted peanuts in moderation and avoid excessive intake. If constipation occurs, it may be improved by adjusting dietary habits, increasing dietary fiber intake, and drinking more water.
