There are various reasons for delayed menstruation, including but not limited to stress, weight changes, hormonal imbalances, ovarian cysts, thyroid problems, pregnancy, and the effects of certain medications. If menstruation is delayed, it is important to first consider the possibility of pregnancy and perform a pregnancy test to confirm. If the result is negative and menstruation still does not occur, it is advisable to consult a doctor for a detailed examination. The doctor may recommend blood tests to check hormone levels or ultrasound examinations to rule out other underlying health issues. When facing delayed menstruation, the following approaches may be considered:

1. Daily regulation: Drink some ginger soup, as gingerol can stimulate uterine contractions in women and help regulate the menstrual cycle. Increase physical exercise to promote systemic blood circulation, which is beneficial for menstrual blood discharge. Maintain a positive mindset, reduce intake of spicy and irritating foods, ensure adequate sleep, and avoid staying up late.

2. Physical therapy: Acupuncture can help unblock meridians and promote blood circulation, aiding in the onset of menstruation. Massaging specific acupoints such as the spleen, stomach, liver, and kidney points on the back, the eight髎 points on the lumbar-sacral region, the Guanyuan and Qihai points on the lower abdomen, and the Zusanli and Xuehai points on the legs may also help induce menstruation.

If menstruation is delayed for more than seven days, it is recommended to seek timely medical attention to identify the cause and follow the doctor's instructions for appropriate treatment.
