Just had a painless abortion and feel a bit disoriented now. I know I need to take good care after the surgery, but I'm not exactly sure what specific precautions to take. I'd like to know what things I should be mindful of?

After a painless abortion, it is important to pay attention to rest, personal hygiene, dietary adjustments, and monitoring your physical condition.

Adequate rest after surgery is essential, especially within the first two weeks, when you should reduce physical labor and rest in bed appropriately to accelerate recovery. Keep the external genital area clean and dry, washing daily with warm water, and avoid using harsh cleansers such as shower gels. Refrain from sexual intercourse and tub bathing for one month to reduce the risk of infection.

Diet-wise, it is recommended to eat light, nutritious foods rich in protein, such as chicken, fish, lean meat, and eggs, as well as fresh fruits to replenish the body's water and vitamin needs. Avoid spicy, raw, cold, or greasy foods. Light vaginal bleeding is common after the procedure and typically lasts 7–10 days. If bleeding exceeds the amount experienced during menstruation or is accompanied by symptoms such as fever or worsening abdominal pain, seek medical attention promptly.

Avoid strenuous exercise for the first week after surgery. In the second week, light physical activities such as walking and stretching may be resumed. Activities like jogging and yoga can be resumed after one month. A follow-up visit to the hospital is usually scheduled about one week after surgery to ensure the uterus has recovered normally and to rule out any remaining tissue.
