Pre-examination Instructions
I have a medical check-up scheduled for tomorrow. I heard there are some things to be mindful of before the check-up, but I'm not very clear about the details. I would like to know what precautions should be taken prior to the medical examination?
Three days before the physical examination, maintain a normal diet, avoid excessively greasy and high-protein foods, and abstain from alcohol to prevent affecting indicators such as blood lipids and liver function.
Try to maintain regular作息 (作息 should be translated as作息 here, meaning rest and activity patterns), ensure adequate sleep, as staying up late may lead to abnormalities such as elevated transaminase levels. After 10 PM the day before the examination, you should fast and abstain from water to ensure 8 to 12 hours of fasting for tests such as blood glucose, liver function, and abdominal ultrasound; eating may interfere with the accuracy of test results.
Women should avoid undergoing examination during menstruation, as it may affect results of routine urine and blood tests. It is generally recommended to have the examination 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period ends. Avoid wearing excessive jewelry to facilitate the smooth conduct of various examinations.
If you are currently taking medications, do not discontinue them on your own; inform the doctor, who will determine whether adjustments to the medication plan are needed. Additionally, wear loose and comfortable clothing on the day of the examination to allow easy dressing and undressing; avoid wearing complex garments such as dresses or pantyhose. Arrive at the examination site early, adjust your mindset, and avoid nervousness that may affect indicators such as blood pressure.
