What are the causes of stomach pain?
Today, I suddenly experienced severe stomach pain, so intense that I couldn't even straighten my waist. I want to know, what could be causing this abdominal pain?
Abdominal pain may be related to improper diet, such as consuming large amounts of spicy or cold foods, which can irritate the gastrointestinal tract and cause abdominal pain. Digestive issues like indigestion, chronic gastritis, and chronic enteritis are also common causes that may lead to symptoms such as abdominal pain and bloating.
In women, abdominal pain might be caused by menstrual cramps, ovarian cysts, or uterine fibroids. Additionally, diseases of the urinary system, such as kidney stones and cystitis, as well as cardiovascular conditions like myocardial infarction, can sometimes present as abdominal pain.
For middle-aged and elderly individuals, abdominal pain could also be a symptom of acute myocardial infarction or aortic dissection. Psychological factors such as high stress, anxiety, and depression may indirectly cause abdominal pain by affecting the autonomic nervous system. Due to the wide variety of possible causes, if the pain persists or is severe, it is advisable to seek medical attention promptly for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
In daily life, it is recommended to maintain a bland diet and avoid spicy and irritating foods such as garlic, hot pot, and mustard. Adequate rest is also important, and excessive fatigue should be avoided to prevent negative impacts on health.
