Drinking tea can assist in lowering blood lipids to a certain extent, but it cannot completely replace medication.

Components in tea, such as tea polyphenols, tea polysaccharides, and tea amino acids, have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and lipid metabolism-regulating effects. Long-term moderate tea consumption, especially green tea and oolong tea, may help reduce total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in the blood while increasing the proportion of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, thereby exerting a certain lipid-lowering effect. However, the concentration of effective ingredients in tea is generally low and usually insufficient to treat hyperlipidemia. Moreover, the health benefits of tea typically require long-term consistent consumption to manifest and tend to be relatively mild. Additionally, for individuals who already have hyperlipidemia, relying solely on tea consumption to control blood lipids is far from sufficient. It should be combined with healthy eating habits, regular physical exercise, and, when necessary, medication and other comprehensive measures.

Therefore, although drinking tea is beneficial to health, it should not be regarded as the sole method for treating hyperlipidemia. Before implementing any health intervention measures, it is recommended to consult professional medical personnel to obtain personalized health guidance.
