Can pregnant women with gestational diabetes eat rice noodles?
I am 30 years old and have been pregnant for more than 3 months. I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes and would like to know whether individuals with gestational diabetes can eat rice noodles.

Generally, pregnant women with diabetes can consume rice noodles in moderation, but should pay attention to controlling the intake and choosing appropriate cooking methods.
Rice noodles are a staple food made from rice, primarily composed of starch, and contain a certain amount of carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. For pregnant women with diabetes, moderate consumption of rice noodles generally will not cause sharp fluctuations in blood sugar levels. However, due to their high carbohydrate content, excessive consumption may lead to elevated blood sugar levels, which is not conducive to blood sugar control.
Pregnant women with diabetes should control their intake of rice noodles and avoid consuming large amounts at once. They should choose low-fat and low-salt cooking methods, avoiding high-fat methods such as frying or deep-frying. Boiled or soup-based rice noodles are preferable, and can be paired with vegetables, lean meat, and other ingredients to increase the intake of dietary fiber and protein. Blood sugar levels should be closely monitored after consumption to ensure they do not rise abnormally.
Pregnant women with diabetes should plan their meals rationally, aiming for small, frequent meals at regular intervals to prevent excessive hunger before meals and maintain stable blood sugar levels. If any discomfort occurs, prompt medical attention is recommended.
