During menstruation, a proper diet can help alleviate menstrual discomfort and enhance physical resistance. It is recommended to increase intake of iron-rich foods such as red meat, animal liver, spinach, legumes, and others, to compensate for iron deficiency caused by blood loss during menstruation.

Consuming foods rich in vitamin B complex, such as whole grains, nuts, and leafy green vegetables, can help stabilize mood and relieve fatigue. Eating moderate amounts of foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, such as deep-sea fish and flaxseed oil, may reduce menstrual pain. Additionally, maintaining adequate hydration and avoiding caffeine and alcohol can help reduce abdominal bloating and edema.

Foods high in dietary fiber, such as celery, enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and fruits like bananas and apples, can promote gastrointestinal motility and help prevent constipation. Warm-natured foods, such as ginger tea and brown sugar water, can also alleviate menstrual pain in some women.

At the same time, it is advisable to avoid spicy and cold foods, such as ice cream, pears, and watermelon, to prevent exacerbation of menstrual pain and other discomforts.
