Will double eyelids become shallower if they are made too deep?
I had double eyelid surgery some time ago, and the incision was made quite deep, which now looks unnatural. I would like to ask if a deep double eyelid crease will become less pronounced over time.

Doubles eyelid creases typically do not naturally become shallower, as the creases formed during surgery involve removing a certain amount of eyelid skin and fat, and fixing the eyelid muscles and skin together through suturing. Once healed, these structural changes are usually permanent.
During the post-operative recovery period, the eyelid creases may initially appear deeper than expected due to swelling and tissue healing. As the swelling gradually subsides, the appearance of the eyelid creases may improve and look less deep. However, this change is limited and mainly depends on the body's natural healing process, rather than the eyelid crease itself becoming shallower.
The skin around the eyes will gradually heal after surgery, with its elasticity and firmness slowly recovering, which can help make the eyelid creases appear more natural and less pronounced. Physiological changes occur during the body's recovery process, such as eyelid skin relaxation and reduction of elastic fibers, which may also cause the eyelid creases to gradually become shallower.
Before considering revision surgery, patients need to wait until the eye tissues have fully recovered and stabilized, and it is generally recommended to wait at least 6 months after the initial surgery. At the same time, patients should have thorough communication with their surgeon, assess the condition of their eyes, and develop a personalized revision plan.
