Can I have double eyelid surgery after having myopic eye surgery?
I just had myopic surgery not long ago, and I've always wanted to have double eyelid surgery. Given the current situation, when exactly can I undergo the procedure? Could it affect the recovery of my eyes?

In general, it is possible to have double eyelid surgery after undergoing refractive surgery for myopia.
Refractive surgery for myopia primarily corrects vision by altering the curvature of the cornea or implanting an artificial lens, thereby improving unaided vision. Double eyelid surgery, on the other hand, is a cosmetic procedure that creates a natural crease on the upper eyelid to enhance the appearance of the eyes. These two procedures target different anatomical areas—the cornea for refractive surgery and the upper eyelid for double eyelid surgery—so they do not directly affect each other in terms of anatomical structure.
However, both are eye-related surgeries and their target areas are in close proximity. Generally, a recovery period is required after refractive surgery, including corneal healing and stabilization of vision. Therefore, it is recommended to wait until full recovery from refractive surgery before undergoing double eyelid surgery, in order to ensure the stability of the refractive surgery outcome and minimize any potential impact of the double eyelid surgery on the eye.
Prior to undergoing double eyelid surgery, consultation with both a professional ophthalmologist and a plastic surgeon is advised, to develop the most suitable surgical plan based on individual ocular conditions and surgical history.
