Disease description:

I am a 35-year-old male. Recently, I have experienced frequent nosebleeds, especially upon waking up in the morning. Although the amount of bleeding each time is not heavy, it lasts a relatively long time and slowly stops only after applying pressure with tissue paper. This situation has made me feel very uneasy, and I am worried that something might be wrong with my health. I would like to ask, how can nosebleeds be effectively stopped?

When experiencing a nosebleed, applying pressure to the nostrils can quickly stop the bleeding. Specifically, use your fingers to pinch both sides of the nostrils, slightly bend your head forward, and maintain this posture for about 10 minutes; in most cases, this can effectively control the bleeding. This is because the blood vessels inside the nasal cavity are relatively fragile, and applying pressure can help the blood to coagulate, thereby achieving a hemostatic effect. If the environment is excessively dry or you have recently engaged in behaviors such as forceful nose-blowing or picking your nose, it may damage the nasal mucosa and increase the risk of nosebleeds. Additionally, certain medical conditions such as hypertension and blood disorders can also cause nosebleeds, so it is important to assess your own situation to determine whether further medical evaluation is needed.

To prevent recurrent nosebleeds, it is important to maintain nasal moisture in daily life. You can use normal saline nasal spray or apply a small amount of Vaseline inside the nostrils. In dry weather conditions, it is recommended to drink plenty of water and use a humidifier to improve indoor humidity. If nosebleeds occur frequently or are accompanied by other symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, or skin bruising, seek medical attention promptly. Normally, try to avoid forceful nose-blowing or picking your nose to reduce nasal irritation.
