The nose being constantly congested can be caused by excessive secretions, environmental factors, rhinitis, or a deviated nasal septum.

When the nasal cavity inhales large amounts of dust or polluted air, it can increase nasal secretions, which, once dried, block the nasal passages and affect breathing. Long-term smoking, air pollution, dryness, or overuse of nasal medications can also damage the nasal mucosa, causing nasal congestion.

Conditions such as rhinitis and sinusitis are usually caused by viruses, bacteria, or allergens, leading to inflammation of the nasal mucosa and resulting in symptoms such as nasal itching, congestion, and reduced sense of smell. Uneven development or trauma affecting the nasal septum can cause septal deviation, narrowing one nasal passage, reducing the airway space, and resulting in nasal blockage.

In addition, upper respiratory tract infections are mainly caused by viral infections such as parainfluenza virus and rhinovirus, or bacterial infections such as hemophilus influenzae and streptococcus, with common symptoms including nasal congestion, coughing, sneezing, and runny nose.

Structural abnormalities require surgical correction, inflammatory diseases need anti-inflammatory or anti-allergy treatment, and unhealthy lifestyle habits should be corrected to alleviate nasal congestion.
