Will rhinoplasty cause the eyes to deform?
I've always wanted a nose job, but I heard that after the procedure, the eyes might become deformed. What if I really end up looking uglier? Does rhinoplasty actually affect the eyes?

Rhinoplasty refers to nasal augmentation surgery. Under normal circumstances, rhinoplasty does not directly cause eye deformation.
Although the eyes and nose are closely adjacent in facial structure, they are supported by different bones and soft tissues. Rhinoplasty primarily targets the nose area, improving its shape—such as correcting a drooping nasal tip or a flat nasal bridge—to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. It does not directly affect the eye socket or the muscles around the eyes, and therefore does not directly cause eye deformation.
However, if rhinoplasty is performed improperly, it may have indirect effects on surrounding structures. For example, excessive elevation of the nasal root during surgery might slightly alter the position of the eyebrows, thereby affecting the appearance of the eyes and potentially creating a visual impression of eye deformation. However, this is not actual eye deformation, but rather a visual illusion.
Prior to rhinoplasty, it is important to thoroughly communicate personal expectations and concerns with the surgeon and to choose an appropriate surgical plan to ensure both the desired outcome and safety.
