Is it good to wash your face with white vinegar every day?
I've been using white vinegar to wash my face for several days, and I've noticed my skin feels a bit tight. I'm wondering if this is caused by the white vinegar. Is it advisable to use white vinegar to wash my face daily?

From a professional perspective, it's not advisable to wash your face with white vinegar every day.
The surface of the skin has a natural weakly acidic protective barrier, with a pH level between 4.5 and 6.5, which helps retain moisture, block bacteria, and protect the skin. White vinegar, however, has a pH level of 2.4 to 3.4, significantly more acidic than the skin. Washing your face daily with white vinegar is like cleansing the skin with a corrosive liquid, which can damage this protective barrier. Once compromised, the skin can become dry, sensitive, prone to redness, itching, and may feel stinging. Bacteria can also more easily invade the skin, causing inflammation.
Although the acetic acid in white vinegar can remove dead skin cells, temporarily making the skin smoother, excessive exfoliation can thin the skin and reduce its protective capabilities. Long-term use can disrupt the skin's natural regulatory abilities, making it weaker and more fragile. This is especially problematic for individuals with dry or sensitive skin, as using white vinegar on the face can more easily trigger skin issues.
Therefore, it's not recommended to wash your face with white vinegar daily. If you do want to use white vinegar for cleansing, it must be diluted at a ratio of 1:10 and used no more than once a week. For daily cleansing, it's better to use a gentle facial cleanser and moisturize promptly after washing, to better protect your skin.
