Can acne scars be repaired?

Disease description:

Last year, I developed some acne on my face. Because it was extremely itchy at the time, I couldn’t resist squeezing the pimples with my fingers. As a result, I’m now left with several acne scars (pockmarks) on my face. I’ve tried various acne-treatment products, but none have been effective. I’d like to ask: Can acne scars be directly repaired?

Hello, acne scars (atrophic scars) can be partially improved, but complete restoration is not possible. Post-acne hyperpigmentation or erythema typically results from delayed or inappropriate treatment of acne lesions. Treatment options depend on the individual case and may include topical medications such as tretinoin cream or isotretinoin gel. In certain cases, oral antibiotics—commonly tetracycline-class agents—may be prescribed, along with oral retinoids, which can aid in improving post-acne marks. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
