San Bai Tang (Three-White Decoction) exerts skin-whitening and freckle-lightening effects, while also moisturizing the skin and tonifying Qi. It effectively improves melasma and is beneficial for conditions associated with Qi and blood deficiency or coldness. This decoction may be used to regulate rough skin, hyperpigmentation, and acne. Its principal ingredients include Atractylodes macrocephala (Bai Zhu), Paeonia lactiflora (Bai Shao), and Poria cocos (Bai Fu Ling). Long-term use of this formula is not recommended, particularly for individuals with excessive Liver Fire, who should reduce intake frequency to avoid potential edema.
