Dr. Li Ying
The recurrent postpartum lochia is often caused by poor personal hygiene or resuming sexual activity too early, leading to intrauterine infection. Persistent inflammation repeatedly stimulates the endometrium, resulting in recurrent lochia. It may also be due to retained products of conception within the uterine cavity after delivery. In most cases, postpartum lochia resolves spontaneously within approximately eight weeks. Consult your physician regarding the use of blood-activating and stasis-resolving medications to facilitate the complete expulsion of lochia.
