Complications Following Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) Rhinoplasty

Disease description:

My nose has always been relatively flat, and I’m considering rhinoplasty with an implant. I’ve heard that expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE, commonly known as “Gore-Tex”) implants offer excellent shapeability and long-lasting results. However, I’m concerned about potential complications. Could you please tell me what complications are commonly associated with ePTFE rhinoplasty?

Hello, It is common to experience bruising after surgery. However, if you are pregnant, elevated progesterone levels may cause endocrine imbalances, leading to increased melanin deposition in the skin. Additionally, poor daily dietary habits—such as deficiencies in vitamins and trace elements—may also contribute to this phenomenon. Generally, it is recommended to consume more fresh fruits and vegetables. We hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
