Is breast implant removal painful?

Disease description:

I underwent breast augmentation at home a few years ago. A few days ago, I accidentally hit my chest against a cabinet, and now my breasts are extremely swollen and painful. I would like to have the breast implants removed—could you tell me whether this procedure will be very painful?

Hello, breast augmentation with implants is a commonly performed procedure today. By inserting implants, the size and shape of the breasts can be enhanced, thereby improving overall appearance and boosting self-confidence. After breast augmentation surgery, patients should avoid excessive impact or trauma to the chest area, as this may cause implant rupture. During implant removal, local or general anesthesia will be administered. Mild pain may persist for approximately 7 days following the procedure. With proper postoperative care, most patients recover fully within about 15 days. I hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
