Can salt remove blackheads?

My blackheads on the nose are particularly severe—I can clearly feel as though my nose looks especially dirty. I’ve read online that rubbing salt on the nose can remove blackheads. Is this method reliable?

It is generally not recommended to use salt to remove blackheads. First, salt is not a medicinal agent and has no therapeutic effect on blackheads. Second, many types of salt are available on the market; using salt for blackhead removal makes it difficult to control the concentration—excessively high concentrations may irritate the skin and damage the stratum corneum. Therefore, we do not recommend using salt to remove blackheads; instead, please opt for evidence-based, medically approved treatment methods.
