Complete aphasia is typically treated with rehabilitation therapy, and pharmacotherapy may also be employed; surgical intervention may be necessary in certain cases. Rehabilitation therapy primarily involves speech-language exercises designed to improve articulation and thereby produce therapeutic benefits. If the condition results from a neurological disorder, neurotrophic medications may be used. However, if it stems from a severe brain disease, surgical treatment may be required.
