What should I do about cracked heels?
Disease description:
I’ve had cracked heels for quite some time. I thought they’d heal on their own, so I didn’t pay much attention to them. However, over the past couple of days, I’ve noticed the condition worsening—and there’s even bleeding. So now I’d like to address it. What should I do about cracked heels?
Cracked heels can be treated by soaking the feet in white vinegar, which helps smooth the skin. It is also important to stay well-hydrated and consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Additionally, avoid using alkaline soaps for foot washing; instead, maintain skin moisture and elasticity by thoroughly drying the feet immediately after washing and applying an oily preparation—such as peanut oil, soybean oil, or petroleum jelly—to nourish and moisturize the skin. Clinically, some practitioners also use vitamin E ointment applied topically.
