Differences Between Glargine Insulin and Recombinant Glargine Insulin
Disease description:
I have diabetes and need to administer insulin glargine subcutaneously every evening. Could you please explain the difference between insulin glargine and recombinant insulin glargine?
The chemical composition of hepatic insulin and recombinant hepatic insulin is essentially identical. Recombinant glargine insulin is domestically manufactured, whereas glargine insulin is an imported product. Generally, the imported version demonstrates relatively superior therapeutic efficacy. Both medications provide stable blood glucose control and help reduce the incidence of hypoglycemic episodes. Patients may select the appropriate drug based on their individual clinical circumstances.
