What factors regulate insulin secretion?
Disease description:
Today, I went to the hospital for a physical examination, and my test results indicated “dysregulation of insulin secretion.” What factors regulate insulin secretion?
Insulin secretion dysfunction primarily results from insufficient insulin production in response to dietary stimuli, or from premature or delayed insulin release, thereby failing to effectively regulate postprandial blood glucose elevation. In such cases, measurement of serum insulin levels is generally recommended. If necessary, insulin secretagogues or exogenous insulin injections may be used to control blood glucose levels.
