Can pregnant women eat persimmons?
Pregnant women can generally eat crisp persimmons, but should avoid excessive consumption to prevent indigestion.
Crisp persimmons refer to persimmons that have undergone artificial de-astringency treatment, resulting in a crunchy and sweet texture. They are rich in protein, sugars, fats, carotene, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and crude fiber. Eating an appropriate amount during pregnancy helps supplement essential nutrients, boost immunity, relieve constipation, and moisten the lungs and promote body fluid production, thus usually having positive effects on health. However, overeating should be avoided, as it may trigger gestational hypertension and increase gastrointestinal burden, leading to indigestion.
In addition, when eating crisp persimmons, avoid consuming them together with kelp or white radish, as this may interfere with the nutritional value and digestion/absorption of each food.
