Abdominal Injection Tutorial
Generally, abdominal injection refers to subcutaneous injection in the abdominal area, which typically involves the following steps: cleaning the skin, disinfection, injection, and applying pressure. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. Identify the injection site, usually within a 5 cm radius around the navel, selecting an area with relatively thick subcutaneous fat.
2. Disinfect the injection site using a cotton swab dipped in medical alcohol or iodophor.
3. Use the left hand to pinch up a skin fold, then with the right hand hold the syringe and quickly insert the needle at a 30-degree angle into the skin.
4. After confirming no blood return upon aspiration, slowly inject the medication.
5. Upon completion of the injection, press the injection site with a cotton swab, quickly withdraw the needle, and discard the swab after bleeding has stopped.
Abdominal subcutaneous injection is a relatively simple procedure; however, to avoid potential harm from incorrect administration, it is recommended to perform the injection under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
