Introduction
Cervical hypertrophy may be a physiological change occurring in the cervix, forming nabothian cysts that lead to varying degrees of cervical thickening. It could also result from chronic cervicitis, in which long-term irritation to the cervical area causes cervical thickening. Additionally, repeated induced abortions may easily cause cervical injury, leading to cervical hypertrophy.

Cervical hypertrophy may be caused by cervical glandular cysts, chronic inflammatory stimulation, induced abortion, or other factors. Specific causes are as follows:

1. Cervical Glandular Cysts

These are mostly physiological changes occurring in the cervix. Since the cysts are located deep within the glands, they may lead to varying degrees of cervical thickening. Generally, there are no discomfort symptoms, and special treatment is not required.

2. Chronic Inflammatory Stimulation

Prolonged irritation due to chronic cervicitis may cause cervical thickening. Under a doctor's guidance, local suppository medications can be used for treatment, such as metronidazole vaginal suppositories, tinidazole suppositories, or Baofukang suppositories.

3. Induced Abortion

Frequent induced abortions may easily cause cervical injury, leading to cervical hypertrophy. If significant pathogenic infection (e.g., bacterial infection) is present, antibiotic medications may be prescribed by a doctor, such as levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, norfloxacin capsules, or metronidazole tablets.

Besides the above-mentioned causes, cervical hypertrophy may also result from other factors such as cervical trauma. If discomfort symptoms occur—such as lower abdominal heaviness or distension—it is recommended to seek medical attention at a hospital and cooperate with doctors for examination and treatment.
