Introduction
Under normal circumstances, squid is incompatible with almonds, tofu, celery, beer, persimmons, etc. Consuming squid with almonds may lead to indigestion. Almonds contain amygdalin, which, when combined with certain components in squid, may produce substances that are difficult to digest, causing gastrointestinal discomfort such as abdominal pain and nausea. However, this does not mean they absolutely cannot be eaten together.

Generally, squid is incompatible with almonds, tofu, celery, beer, persimmons, and other similar foods. Detailed explanations are as follows:

1. Almonds

Consuming squid with almonds may lead to indigestion. Almonds contain amygdalin, which may combine with certain components in squid to produce substances that are difficult to digest, causing gastrointestinal discomfort such as abdominal pain and nausea.

2. Tofu

Tofu contains a relatively high amount of calcium ions, while squid contains a high level of oxalate. When consumed together, oxalate and calcium ions can easily combine to form calcium oxalate, a substance that is difficult to dissolve. This not only affects calcium absorption but also may increase the risk of kidney stones.

3. Celery

Consuming squid with celery may cause bodily discomfort. Certain components in celery may react with proteins in squid, increasing the burden on the digestive system and potentially causing bloating and diarrhea.

4. Beer

Consuming squid with beer may increase the risk of gout. Squid is rich in purines, while beer promotes the production of uric acid, a metabolite of purines. Excessive intake may elevate uric acid levels, triggering or worsening gout symptoms.

5. Persimmons

Persimmons contain large amounts of tannic acid, which can combine with proteins in squid to form substances that are difficult to digest, potentially causing indigestion and stomach discomfort. This interaction may also reduce the nutritional value of the proteins in squid.

Although the above foods are considered incompatible with squid, this does not mean they absolutely cannot be consumed together. In daily diets, these foods can be moderately combined according to individual physical conditions and health status, while paying attention to any bodily reactions.
