Introduction
Under normal circumstances, pitaya (dragon fruit) should not be consumed with foods such as milk, bananas, cucumbers, persimmons, or crabs. Pitaya is a nutrient-rich fruit; it is recommended to properly combine it with other foods to better utilize its nutritional value, while avoiding excessive consumption with certain specific foods. This allows one to enjoy delicious food while also promoting health.

Generally, dragon fruit is not recommended to be consumed with foods such as milk, bananas, cucumbers, persimmons, or crabs. The specific reasons are as follows:

1. Milk

Dragon fruit contains a certain amount of oxalic acid. Consuming excessive milk along with dragon fruit may lead to the formation of calcium oxalate, an insoluble compound, which can interfere with calcium absorption. Long-term and excessive intake may also increase the risk of kidney stones.

2. Bananas

Both dragon fruit and bananas are cold-natured fruits. Eating them together may intensify their cooling effect, potentially causing coldness in the spleen and stomach, leading to gastrointestinal discomfort, such as abdominal pain and diarrhea.

3. Cucumbers

Cucumbers contain vitamin C-decomposing enzymes, while dragon fruit is rich in vitamin C. When consumed together, the enzymes in cucumbers can degrade the vitamin C in dragon fruit, reducing its nutritional value.

4. Persimmons

Persimmons contain large amounts of tannic acid, as does dragon fruit. When these two foods are consumed together, tannic acid may form indigestible precipitates in the stomach, which could cause stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.

5. Crabs

Crabs are cold-natured foods rich in protein and calcium, while dragon fruit is also a cold-natured fruit containing tannic acid. Consuming them together may excessively intensify the cold nature, potentially causing gastrointestinal discomfort. Additionally, tannic acid may bind with the proteins in crab meat to form indigestible substances, leading to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Dragon fruit is a nutrient-rich fruit. It is recommended to pair it with other foods appropriately to maximize its nutritional benefits. At the same time, avoid consuming excessive amounts alongside certain specific foods. This way, you can enjoy delicious meals while also promoting better health.
