What fruits and foods are beneficial for bile reflux?
Patients with bile reflux may consume foods that are easy to digest and protect the gastric mucosa, fresh vegetables, low-fat diets, and slightly alkaline fruits.
1. Foods that are easy to digest and protect the gastric mucosa: such as millet-pumpkin porridge, coix seed–Chinese yam porridge, eight-treasure porridge, and noodles. These foods are nutrient-rich and do not place excessive strain on the gastrointestinal tract.
2. Fresh vegetables: such as spinach and cabbage, which help replenish essential vitamins and other nutrients required by the body.
3. Low-fat diet: Patients may consume lean beef, lamb, lean pork, and skimmed milk to help reduce reflux.
4. Slightly alkaline fruits: such as pears, apples, durians, cherries, and mangoes. Since excessive gastric acid secretion is a common cause of bile reflux, consuming slightly alkaline fruits may aid in recovery.
